OK, this may be a unique situation, but I had a new hard drive in my Weaknees cart and then figured this out, Whew. So I was watching cable TV on my Tivo Edge and it crashed to 3 flashing lights, Tried unplugging, a few times same result. Research indicated hard drive. THEN I noticed my clock was also flashing, (a digital clock yes I am old).After deleting subscriptions to all TiVocasts, (including DL.TV, CNET, Cranky Geeks, and NYTimes Circuits) and doing a restart through the Setting menu, the blue light is now gone. If it was live TV, then the show keeps playing but you can't rewind or get to the Now Playing screen (the remotes will still power the TV on and off/switch TV input, and control volumn). If you are using WiFi you may also find this light comes on if the WiFi connection is lost. They change to white when the connection is re-established.
