Previously I was running WICO > ICOW > WICO/ICOW Patch Now I am running ICOW > WICO > WICO/ICOW patch and the blackfaces are gone, so far. I suppose this means that the game was expecting WICO facegen values, but was being supplied with ICOW facegen values at the last stage, causing the blackface. Modifying packages didn't have an effect.
Make sure your load order is correct. If using both mods, SoS should be loaded after WICO. This will let SoS overwrite the body mesh while not touching things WICO doesn't touch. In general, load mods that edit specific things (like eyes, for instance) after things that edit general things (like faces/bodies).
