Current patches provide 1% resistance and like a single point and ill need to do that hundreds of times? Something isn't right..if you have storage space - don't rip up clothing immediately. The chance to get thread increases the higher your tailoring is. At first levels you barely get any. At level 5 you get at least some thread every time you rip clothes. And every time you get thread from ripping clothes, you get a little XP. In vanilla, adding and removing patches is the only way I know of leveling Tailoring. I don't think the devs purposely made it hard to level Tailoring -- it's more likely that the skill hasn't been fully fleshed out yet. it certainly is not the easiest to level up but its certainly one of the easiest to grind if you kill alot of zombies. the thread yield at level 0 or 1 is very low so you need to kill alot of zombies to even start to grind for it. ripped sheet and leather strip padding does give different amount of exp but theres really no big difference. problem is shortage of thread early levels.
