It is a 1951 manufacture date. The barrel is stamped 38 Colt NP CTG. The box list it as a Detective Special and the caliber as Police Positive 38. It is 100% legitimate with the serial number matching box and in brand-new unfired condition. I am just curious as to if anybody else has seen these.

It was only available in .38 Special, while other Colt snub-nose revolvers were chambered for milder rounds, such as .38 Colt New Police (aka .38 S&W), .32 Short and Long Colt, and .22 rimfire.
