I am going to guess he had 2 tickets one from India to Schengen area and then another from Schengen area to the USA. If this is the case the airline providing the flight leaving India was correct in denying boarding for the missing Schengen visa as the flight to USA was with a different airline and no longer a connection but 2 separate flights. Justfly was trying to say that on top of the cancellation charge ($75 per passenger), we needed to pay a $200 per passenger reschedule fee, along with their fees (which ended up being over $500).
