To the good or bad, healers have been turned into a second support role over the last few expansions. When it comes to pure healing ,Fury is very good at solo-healing a dps group because of damage reductions, but that is it. Defiler is still way better at keeping a group and tank alive. there are 3 types of healing in Eq2 (will put wow examples since those are well know) templar / inq , reactives = get hit = get healed , have charges (think Earth shield in wow but way more healing ) fury /warden , Hots , those are well know , druids are popular as hell tho.Steps. A Fury will do considerably more damage when played well and can do a decent amount of damage while still healing since we get a buff that procs damage on our beneficial spells. A Fury is more like a Sorceror than a melee. I've tried melee specs for laughs, but it just doesn't hold a candle to spell DPS.
