Welcome to the playtest for Pathfinder Dark Archive! This upcoming sourcebook, scheduled for Gen Con 2022, brings the paranormal to your game tables, with rules for cryptid monsters, apocryphal divine magic, and time-bending temporal anomalies. 1. Zealot4JC. • 2 yr. ago. Alternating between this (tanking) and stealth is exactly how I was trying to build by Thaumaturge concept. I think the reaction implements (Amulet and/or Weapon) are your best bets here, combined with either a good reach weapon or unarmed attacks.

Huge reach with a tiny whip with mirror and great AOOs. Or a dapper tiefling with a sword cane.Basically it lets you get a regular 2nd level class feat instead of spending it on a multiclass feat. It's more limited since you can't use it for non-multiclass archetypes but is generally going to be valuable. Overall, though, I think rogue is the best multiclass for increasing thaumaturge DPR, followed closely by monk.

Thaumaturge's action economy is pretty tight with Exploit Vulnerability and Intensify Vulnerability and the implement's own actions, so Beastmaster/Cavalier are good for the free Stride you get at 4+ from Mature. The key is that if you have two implements in your hand (say a passive + active, like Tome/Wand), both of those hands can additionally hold a scroll.
