Ranger's good if you want to snipe for big single shot damage and maybe get a bonus buddy to run interference, or if you want to be a horse archer. Precision edge, gravity weapon, and running reload all do well to balance the downside of firearms. Guns are mechanically like crossbows, and rangers were the best crossbow users.
