Pierce arrow MVs goes up by 2s in 4/6/8/10/12 order so level 5 pierce is a very big deal over level 4. The main reason bow pierce isn't meta while lbg pierce is, is armor pieces. Bow currently has exactly one source of bow charge up, being the mighty bow feather used in the headpiece. Absolutely mandatory.

Pierce 1 ammo economy is awful. Grab Jyuratodus LBG (in 5*) or go all in on Nargacuga (6*). Jyura is probably easier to make since you don't have to grind out narga marrow/medulla, assuming you're cool with RF Spread 2 (honestly pretty fun now that the recoil on it isn't stupid). If you're dying for a workable LBG right now the Mizutsune LBG ...Multiplayer proof! with flinch free and fortify just incase you die in a hunt with your mates. Tbh - the only ones you will really need here is a spread LBG ... Narga LBG is what you want as it will rapid Pierce 2. Rhenoplos S helm. Shell Studded S chest. Rath S Gauntlets. Spio/Skalds S waist. Rajang S pants. This will give you a nice spread of crit boost, weakness exploit, pierce up, and attack. Try to fit in more attack with the talisman and decos. I also need to carry other ammo now like Pierce and spread. I think the reason it's not great tho is that there are better lbg options for dps out there. By the way. I know its not 100% indicative of a hunt because the ratios are off but still will give some insight. For comparison im running a strife 2 MoH 1 Dere 3 build that is hitting 202 on the pole after clearing bloodlust with 100% crit and using crit element.Pierce up (or whatever ammo your using) Rapid fire up (if you are using rapid fire) Spare shot Critical eye Critical boost Attack boost. There are some fun skills you can play with later that are unique to certain armor sets, but off the top of my head I would say try to get the above skills however you can. 2.I mean for endgame (like after you beat fatalis), it's: Head-Rimeguard Y. No. Honestly, the gun seems realy good. 50% affinity due to bloodlust, 3-1-1 slots and medium rampage for anti deco. Frees up a ton of slots and i build a set where i run every critical skill maxed, ammo up 2, ballistix 2, powder mantle 1, evade extender 2 + peak performance 3 /w kushala blessing aswell as attack boost 7 to further bolster its raw.The best pierce 3 hbg that is walkable gets trashed on by the rapid 2 narga lbg. Same is true for almost every ammo type except spread which is roughly even. The difference from the hbg Special ammo being better can't make up for that difference, especially when lbg wire bugs are better for mobility and buff your dmg.I've been only playing bow and pierce lbg in rise and I dunno why but the critical range with the long barrel is just way too far away, often I'm out of roar ranges for max damage, and fighting more mobile mons has been a royal pain due to how slow the shots move.
