I would probably go with a reflection build. The high survivability combined with damage output and maya's ability to slag everything with abandon seems well suited to solo play. Salvador needs to be excluded because just about any build will take down a raid boss. Now if you want a challenge, use Maya. With Salvador the only real strategy is to maximize money shot, fire rate, and use a moxxie weapon to keep your health up. A basic Rubi and Harold will do the trick. SS downsides are pretty badly overblown, most likely because people frequently pair it with a Legendary Binder. The extra Suspension boost makes it more painful when the orb gets weird.
