If i give it throttle very slowly, it will rev up and run good, but will not run with fast advance of throttle from idle. Been through carb several times and even put different carb on it. 1999 Prairie 400 wont get over 20mph. Full disclosure I usually work on Honda ATV's. But, a buddy of mine bought a 1999 Prairie 400 for "a good deal" on local craigslist. It seemed to idle great and even rev up in neutral just fine, but does not accelerate past about 20 or so mph (cant tell cause speedo is broke).I purchase a 1999 Kawasaki KVF400 Prairie most of it is in good condition. The main problem that I am having is with the reverse. When I start the ATV I can engage the reverse first (R-light comes on) give it the gas but will not move. Start ATV engage forward first works fine, go to nutral fine, now it will not even engage to reverse.
