I have the manuals but the pictures do not show any detail on how to position the "link" that holds the adjustment gear in place. I need so help to get it on correctly.The adjustment procedure is basically synchronizing the lever throw to the steering valve, then synchronizing the brake application. If the clutch is slipping, as the machine warms, it is likely a seal leaking in my thoughts. I would expect a leaking hose or fitting inside the steering clutch compartment to be a more consistent slipping.The Case 450 is a good little dozer for the money. Big enough to do serious work and small enough to be manuerverable and good on fuel. The 188D is a reliable engine. Watch for blow-by as a sign of a tired engine.
