John deere 24t baler problems.

42 posts · Joined 2016. #1 · Jun 19, 2019. I have an older john deere 336 baler that I have had for 4 seasons now and this season its struggling to make a nice tight bale in dry grass hay. The bales are real loose because I keep loosening the cranks on the bale tension to see if that is the problem (as it usually is but thats in wet hay).Aug 15, 2013 · This pulls the needle stop out of the bale case if it is extended. The needle stop is what protects the needles in the event of a failure or occasional occurring anomaly, causing the baler to in effect come out of time. The stop extends into the path of the plunger, stopping the plunger before it contacts the needles. Since the flywheel's on the side, it's possible for one person to do it, 'though 2 might make it a little easier.
