The alienfx lighting doesn't switch off. The screen goes off, the alien head on the back of that laptop goes off. But the back light on the keyboard and trackpad and lights on the front of the laptop do not switch off. I cant find a solution to this, my previous m14x didn't do this. To turn all lighting off, left click "go dark" and "go light" to change back....you can also dim the lighting from that menu also....make sure that "keep status zones on during go dark" doesnt have a tick next to it for total blackout !. Seems like you lost one of the light chip OR it set to dark (0 brightness) by AWCC bug. First, try to reset the chip (CMOS reset is not enough) - turn off, remove all cables (including AC cord), wait 15 seconds. You should see rainbow lights at the next start in case reset was successful.
