IIRC before, even low rank optical camp gave you full camouflage with rarity only affecting the amount of time you’d go invisible. But now rarity affects the amount of camo you actually get. Came across this while trying to remedy the Optical Camo. Unfortunately, didn't fix the optical camo yet. But you keep the guns if you upgrade it.

If you want the optical camo that badly, go and get it, you have to play through the first conquest mission / area to unlock it but after that you can just hop around and find it.
