Bob Gillis was my favorite professor at Portland State. There's no competition. While he's a bit weird, and he does tend to go on tangents, he presents the subject matter in a way that is engaging and very interesting. Case study (CS) readings 2x a week, six 1 page CS opinion writeups, and a final paper.
If you need an easy A in a quarter of difficult classes, this is the professor to take. Tons of extra credit, not super interesting lectures. The worst professor I've ever had at Portland State. I'm an A student, but failed both of his exams that covered 7 and 5 chapters respectively. Discussion posts are graded how he feels, & were on AI programs that he is clearly afraid of. Exam questions were terribly worded and trying to trick students. Reuses outdated course materials. Textbook: N/A. Prof. libby is one of the worst computer science professors to learn discrete math from. He tends to put a super hard question in every homework assignment that will take a lot of time but won't really increase your understanding of the material.
