its a simple choice imo, youd only let him live while you do his short quest that is ultimately for the purpose of getting the flame of frenzy ending, so if you arent doing that ending this particular playthrough as well as wanting the ronin armor, simply end him (note that youll get the armor either way, from killing him or doing the frenzy ending)
