Hi. I have a new surface laptop studio and a first generation surface dock. When I charge my computer using the surface dock I get an exclamation mark over the battery. When I charge using the power adapter that came with my laptop studio there are no issues. When I check what devices the surface dock 1 supports it lists the laptop studio.
Kindle is basic version, not even 2 months old. Dont bother buying a kindle. They are garbage. I have three of them, all bricked. They have a design flaw. When the battery is drained completely, they die, display an exclamation point icon, and seem unable to recognize the charge. If you call customer service, they offer you a discount on another one that will soon have the same problem.
