As for being easier to carry than a 30, the difference in my opinion, is marginal. The 30S is just a 30SF with a 36 slide. The 36 slide isn't that much thinner than the 30 slide. The 10 round magazine for the 30S has a pinky extension that really makes the magwell length difference between the 2 pistols nonexistent.

I am actually more accurate with the 30, don't know why. A friend that is a firearms instructor said it's due to being aware of the shorter barrel and concentrating more on the sight picture.
