Then, you’ll have to press up on the D-pad to remove the saddle from the horse. The game will explain this mechanic during Chapter 2, and the quest that Hosea gives you. All of my trapper saddles give the same -50% drain rate to stamina, the same that the stirrups did anyway. So with the +2 to speed and acceleration the trapper saddles all give you the stats from the best stirrups. In addition you get the nice boost to the - core drain rate on both stamina and health and the + to regen rate on stamina.
