I would look at those 2 things and if that isn't the problem, You would be best to get someone to plug into it and pull the codes. Could be injection pump, throttle sensor, wiring, computer, etc. If you find out what code you have, I can help track down the problem.

It currently has ~5800 hours. I use it for baling (456 round Deere) and bush hogging (15 foot Deere). Last week while I was baling, the PTO stopped. Hello. I have a 6415 john Deere that starts easily but when you increase rpm the rpm will limit itself at 1100-1200 rpm. After some time, of operation the engine will finally reach rated RPM. When accelerating the engine quickly, there is a One or two second delay in acceleration at the 1200-1300 rpm range. Fuel lines have been upgraded.I've got a JD 6410, PTO will engage and start turning, then shuts off and flashes the blue warning light. Replaced the RPM sensor on the PTO thinking that it wasn't reading the revolutions and was turning off the PTO. That didn't fix it and the Switch isn't the problem.
